This proof quality coin is part of the Royal Canadian Mint's 2014 five-part series featuring four "day in the life scenes" of the iconic Bald Eagle. Collect the entire series to complete the story of a day in the life of the Bald Eagle as it rests, soars, hunts and returns to its perch with the day's catch. The series captures the essence of the Bald Eagle in four scenes depicting its most important and iconic daily deeds.

COIN HIGHLIGHTS

  • Ships individually in protective packaging
  • Consisting of 1/10 oz of 9995 Fine Platinum
  • Reverse: Features the depiction of a bald eagle's head, the artist's initials, the name of the country of issue, the year of the release and the legal tender value
  • Obverse: Features an effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II along with her name and title initials

The obverse features the Susanna Blunt effigy of Queen Elizabeth II and the words "Elizabeth II D.G. Regina"

The reverse design by Canadian artist Derek Wicks captures the Bald Eagle up close in a manner reminiscent of the ancient Roman general or god. This three-quarter profile shows the magnificent eyes and profile of this majestic bird. An eagle has such good eyesight that the phrase "eagle-eyes" is used as a standard to compare to. The pointed beak and intricately detailed feathers add a level of detail to this already beautiful depiction. At rest is not how the eagle spends most of its time, but it is the easiest way to see the eagle in all its glory. The words "Canada 2014 5 Dollars" and the artist's initials complete this coin.

Made from 9995 Pure Platinum. This coin makes a great addition to any wildlife or platinum collection and is part of a very popular series.
