On the reverse side, the quintessential embodiment of freedom and liberty, the bald eagle is seen mid-flight, with its wings outstretched, as it soars above America. A sun rises in the background as the remaining field of the coin is blank. “United States of America” is displayed above the soaring eagle, while the coins purity, and $100 face value can also be seen.

The obverse depicts a vivid portrait of Lady Liberty, with her bold face skillfully etched and engraved. The legend above, reads “Liberty”, while the coins year of issue, and the nation’s official motto, “in God we trust” can be seen on the field of the obverse side.
