The Sopwith Triplane is featured on the second silver coin in a series celebrating famous aircraft of World War I .
The Sopwith Triplane was only flown for a few months in 1917. The plane was highly maneuverable, but also highly dangerous due to a tendency for it's wings to collapse inward when the plane was in a steep dive! The reverse features a colourized triplane in the foreground, painted in the colours of Black Maria as flown by a Canadian pilot. The obverse features an effigy of King George the Fifth as found on Canadian coins at that time.
This coin is a must have for airplane lovers or those who had family serve in WW 1.
