Calico Jack was the nickname of captain John Rackham, one of the most recognized pirates that made a living by plundering small vessels close to the West Indies.
After the captain and his crew captured a small Jamaican vessel and some other large ships, Captain Rackham sailed to the Bahamas in 1719, he was taking advantage of the opportunity to receive Royal pardon and commission from Governor Woodes Rogers.
Governor Woodes Rogers was responsible for dealing with the pirates attacking British ships in the Caribbean.
These 1 oz silver coins have a very limited mintage (possibly ensuring premium appreciation over time) and come in a brilliant uncirculated condition.
