Product details

A maple leaf that beats with pride, thanks to pulsating technology.

Expertly engraved in rare 99.95% pure platinum, this red maple (Acer rubrum) leaf embodies a refined expression of pride in the intricate beauty of nature. The coin’s reverse proof finish directs all the light onto the leaf’s form, where hundreds of precisely cut micro-mirrors create a pulsating effect. The light subtly shifts in a gentle rhythm, lending the piece a sense of movement and vitality—as if echoing a joyous heartbeat.

Uniting fine craftsmanship and advanced technology, the 2026 Maple Leaf Forever coin offers a captivating reimagining of Canada’s maple emblem, elevating the familiar image into a contemporary work of art that captivates from every angle.

Maple Leaf Forever in motion.

COIN HIGHLIGHTS

  • Pulsating Acer rubrum leaf. An annual platinum celebration, each Maple Leaf Forever coin presents an elegant maple portrait with an innovative twist. The 2026 edition combines a red maple leaf—distinct from the more famous sugar maple—with pulsating technology.
  • Pure platinum. Thirty times rarer than gold, platinum is the ultimate mark of exclusivity. Your coin has been masterfully crafted in 99.95% pure platinum.
  • Reverse proof finish. A reverse proof finish (frosted field, brilliant relief) directs all the attention to the pulsating maple leaf, giving it a striking presence.
  • Mintage is limited to just 425 coins worldwide.
  • Includes serialized certificate. The Royal Canadian Mint certifies all of its collector coins.
  • No GST/HST.

PACKAGING

Your pure platinum coin is encapsulated and elegantly presented in a Royal Canadian Mint-branded wood case with a black beauty box.

ENHANCED WITH PULSATING TECHNOLOGY

This maple leaf shines bright and seemingly pulsates when it catches the light. This effect is made possible by pulsating technology, with hundreds of submillimetre-scale mirrors all working to reflect light in a certain way that creates the illusion of movement.

DID YOU KNOW?

Acer rubrum is one of the most commonly found maples in eastern Canada. Contrary to popular belief, the red maple wasn’t named for its fall colours (red, but sometimes gold)—it gets its name from the colour of its twigs, buds and flowers in the spring.

The reverse design by Canadian artist Lisa Thompson Khan features a single red maple (Acer rubrum) leaf, gracefully angled and enhanced with pulsating technology that creates the impression of subtle, dynamic movement. The obverse features the effigy of His Majesty King Charles III by Canadian artist Steven Rosati.
