Princess Aurora is the lead character in the Disney film, Sleeping Beauty. The film version was released by Disney in 1959 to mixed critical reviews, and was the last fairy tale by Disney for 30 years. Today, the film is considered one of the all time great animated films.

The obverse has the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, while the reverse features a colourized image of Aurora as she appeared in the Disney film. She is wearing her signature pink ball gown as seen at the start of the film.
