HM King Charles III acceded to the throne of the United Kingdom and Commonwealth Realms on the eighth of September of 2022, after the death of the Late Queen Elizabeth II, which occurred in the same year she celebrated a Platinum Jubilee (commemorating 70 years of reign). Prince Charles was the longest-serving heir in British history and became the new monarch at age 73.

On September 10, 2022, the Accession Council proclaimed HM King Charles III as the King of the United Kingdom. The Coronation is expected to happen on May 06, 2023, at the Westminster Abbey.
