Last impressions: These Last Strikes mark the end of an era.
As Canada’s coins transition to the new reigning monarch, the Last Strikes Uncirculated Set commemorates the end of production of current Canadian circulation coins bearing the classic reverse designs and featuring the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II.
Struck in Winnipeg, these 2022-dated pieces are the last of the coins bearing classic designs and produced for everyday transactions as the Royal Canadian Mint did not issue any 2023-dated Canadian circulation coins featuring both the classic reverse designs and the obverse of Queen Elizabeth II. Together in this set, they represent the final chapter in the story of Queen Elizabeth II’s historic reign on Canadian circulation coinage.
COIN HIGHLIGHTS
- Final issue. Each Last Strikes set contains 2022-dated uncirculated coins featuring the effigy of the late Queen Elizabeth II, and these represent the last of their kind: they’re among the last Canadian circulation coins struck with both a classic reverse design and the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II prior to the adoption of a new obverse.
- Two $2 coins in one set. Your set contains one of each of the following: $2, $1, 25 cents, 10 cents and 5 cents. It also includes the $2 Honouring Queen Elizabeth II coin with a black outer ring—a lasting tribute to the long-reigning monarch whose portraits have graced Canada’s coins since 1953.
- Pieces of history. As part of your collection, this affordable set preserves the memory of a historic reign and commemorates a key moment in Canadian numismatic history.
COMPACT PACKAGING
Your six coins are sealed and packaged in a sleek presentation folder that fits perfectly in your uncirculated collector binder.
EASY TO READ FORMAT
A certificate of authenticity and detailed coins specifications have been incorporated into the folder. The information is presented in an easy-to-read format that keeps the focus on the designs.
